Our Datasharp Team showed their full support for CLIC this week as they donned an array of unusual wigs in support of Wig Wednesday.
Every day, 10 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. The gruelling, often life-saving cancer treatment can last up to three years and frequently leads to children and young people losing their hair.
Stephanie Cherington-Rimmell, CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager for Cornwall said; “Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience for many reasons. One particularly upsetting aspect of the journey is hair loss and having to wear a wig. This initiative is designed for people to show that they care about the children and young people who go through this experience, while also fundraising to support them.”
“We are delighted that Datasharp have decided to show their support for children and young people with cancer and their families by getting involved, and we hope that many local businesses follow their lead. It is a really fun and simple way to raise funds for the children and young people we support, and every pound raised will help CLIC Sargent offer vital emotional, practical and financial support to children and young people with cancer and their families.”
Jane Cockcroft, MD Datasharp added; “We have a fabulous team of people here at Datasharp who are always willing to help raise funds for important charities such as CLIC. Everyone has gone to so much effort today with their wigs and wig inspired cakes – all with the aim of raising as much money as we can for children and young people with cancer.”
