We are very proud to announce that one of our engineers has won gold at the recent ‘British Age Group Standard Distance Triathlon’ in Liverpool.
Michael Birchmore, a Datasharp engineer since 2008, had a fantastic event and triumphed in the 20-24 year age group by winning in a time of 1hr 56 minutes 4 seconds.
Competition was fierce, with only a few qualification slots for the World Age Group Triathlon in London up for grabs. Having won his age group Michael is continuing his training in preparation for the World Champs.
Previously, Michael has competed successfully in both the Australia and New Zealand World Champs and he is determined to make his mark in London this year.
Michael commented; “New Zealand was a great experience, and I felt I had two really good races, I’m feeling fitter and stronger this year so can’t wait to see what happens in London.”
